Liptov is rich for various history, and first reference goes to the old ages. Rich historical finds can be find in many museus, monumental houses, but also in historical parts of town, in churchs which breathe of history.

Liptovsky Hradok came into the being in 18th century and it was called accord to three castles.
The castle Hradok belongs to the North part of Liptov by the topographic locality and it is part of the history.

The history of the town has started to be written many centuries ago. The first written document about the town is dated from 1286.

The Celts brought to the territory of Slovakia new arms (swords, lances and shields), specific fashion and usage, as well as varied crafts. Their pottery was especially advanced.

As the Smolnik mining area went short of timber, the copperworks were moved to Malužiná. The main production process carried out in Malužiná was the refining of the copper.

Numerous sheep dairy-farms existed around Pribylina in the past. The sheep were an inseparable part of the life of the local people. They provided milk, a first class cheese, meat, and gleece at minimum outlay.

Važec with its natural scenery, wooden peasant houses and distinctive people was highly attractive for artists.
